The 6th of June, Twenty Twenty-two

Monday

It’s definitely summer. We’re starting out the day at 76°. And the crickets and the cicadas are making sure that quietness doesn’t intrude upon our morning.

I pulled up the WordPress app this morning and it informed me that this is my 15th anniversary on WordPress. That original WordPress blog that resided on WordPress.com was North Carolina Mountain Dreams. Most of those original posts have been moved here when it became clear that most of my morning blog posts weren’t about North Carolina or the mountains. Though, I eventually bought the domain name for both sites and set them up as standalone websites.

Of course I didn’t start out my website experiment on WordPress. Those original experiments began on blogger.com. and if I’m not mistaken still reside there. But after Google bought blogger.com the experience wasn’t the same. Well the experience for the blogger founders, or at least some of them, was monetarily successful. And, some of them ended up with Twitter.

Here’s that original post on Blogger…

Inventing the Myth as I Go

Where am I heading and how will I get there?

You are welcome to come along for the ride. Try not to fall off as we round the curves…

I have tried to do this blog thing before and haven’t managed to develop the discipline to make it work…Blame it on the Floyd County Group of Bloggers for this new try. Fred First and his Fragments From Floyd Blog is inspiring me to begin again in the creation of the myth that is my life. Give me a little time and I’ll try to tie up the loose ends…

Day One of the next stage of my life… May 8, 2006

My messaging app has been getting a workout this morning… Please load some laundry… Please pick me up after work… Isn’t retirement grand?

Well, the clock is running around and started on the 8:00 a.m. hour. And the winds have decided to pick up a bit. Which, come to think of it, is probably a good thing heat wise.

And now, my coffee cup is empty. So I guess it’s time to take this little party inside. So y’all stay healthy, stay safe, and pray for this dysfunctional country and this dysfunctional world… I’ll catch y’all on the other side.
