Tuesday, May twenty-ninth

The summer humidity has arrived to stay and the ceiling fans alone are no longer enough for a morning coffee muses.

It started on Friday, this unpleasantly high humidity. Causing moisture to rise on my bald head at just the thought of actually doing something outside. After spending Saturday and Sunday babysitting the smoker out in the heat, spending most of Monday inside was a treat. This morning sounds like summer… it’s all cicadas, all the time. That background buzz that just screams summer.

What clouds we have today are drifting crosswise to the normal direction clouds move around here. Instead of moving north or south, today’s clouds are drifting east… From the looks of the radar, what I’m seeing is the tail end of Alberto sucking dry air into his back side.

Hawks and buzzards are cruising around today. The hawks loudly, the buzzards not so much. I don’t think I’ve ever had as many blue jays visit the feeders as I have this year. All day long they come and go. Blue jays and red birds, cardinals, contrasting colors brightening up my days.

After a long weekend of having Sherry and the grandkids home all day this should be a quiet day of chores. And catching up on the world’s news…

My cup of muses is empty once more….
