Sunday, May sixth

Bright and sunny, cool and beautiful, it’s spring again, at least for my morning coffee muses.

There is something about the red of a cardinal, in full breeding color, sitting in the top of a tree with the full morning sun shining on him. Nothing is so absolutely red as that color.

I am going to have to keep my muses short this morning. Even though this tablet was plugged in, it wasn’t even fifty percent charged when I started. And it’s already fallen to forty percent…

It’s the perfect morning for a muse though. Cool, quiet… oops, there goes a siren off in the distance. Reality and civilization intrudes…

Even the birds are subdued this morning. The squirrels playing chase in the pines is the loudest thing I hear. Ahh, now there’s a train in the distance…

The chickadees are singing their chick-a-dee song in the distance… and a cardinal is playing on the truck.

My battery is down to thirty percent a d my cup is empty. So I better call this done and get a other cup before my wife drinks it all.

  1. You inspired me to make a run to Nash today. It was lovely, but I got there a little late, and by noon it was full-summer-hot. I may try to get over there early-early tomorrow, if I can get to bed early enough for a truly early rise — like about 5:30. It’s a great idea. Now, we’ll see if it gets implemented.
