2023 Day 248

Tuesday September 5th

Walking out of the front porch this morning before sunup I was slapped in the face by summer. If you look at the screen capture below you might notice that the feels like temperature is above 90° this morning. The humidity is up.. The dew point is back at 77°.. this really is the summer that doesn’t want to end. And, to top it off, there are rain clouds to the east blocking the sunrise.

Yesterday afternoon we managed via a trail of small thunderstorms to accumulate one and a half inches of rain. As you can see from the pictures over the last few weeks we really needed that rain. Already today there are more showers forming and moving north. Maybe we will get lucky and pick up another nice accumulation…

Well I’m back out on the porch for bus number two. And for some reason it doesn’t feel quite this warm as it did earlier. Oh an actuality.. it is. But, the fan is on.. and even with the humidity the wind chill factor helps.

Sadly, unless things change.. The showers that are training today look like they will stay an hour east. I can only hope they don’t.

It’s nice to see that I have hummingbirds fighting over the feeder. It won’t be much longer before the migration has them stacking up here. I might need to resupply my feeders with more feeders. I culled a lot of them in the past year.

It looks like the bus is running late this morning… If it wasn’t for the fact that the early bus was early, I’d feel bad about making my grandkids go out to the road ahead of schedule. But I have seldom noticed a school bus running on their scheduled time… And now the bus is here.. only 8 minutes late.

So now it’s time for me to go in for another cup of coffee and breakfast.. so y’all try to stay cool and I’ll catch y’all on the other side.
