Thursday August 10th
It’s the start of a new school year here …
It’s the first day of school. So my days are starting even earlier than last year. The grandkids, at least the two living with me, are now in two different schools riding two different buses. My grandson starts high school today.. actually they did an orientationon day yesterday.
So here I sit on the front porch before sunup waiting for the high school bus…
And now I’m back in the house after the second bus run… I’ll tell you what, even with a fan on the front porch it’s warmish out …
And then to make me feel even less inclined to enjoy the front porch I see this story…
So now I’m back inside where it’s much cooler and less humid.. and.. for the first time in months I have the house to myself.
And where after 3 hours of being up I find myself needing another cup of coffee. And truthfully, breakfast isn’t something that’s out of the realm of possibility.
See y’all stay cool today.. and I’ll catch y’all on the other side.
I had no idea school districts were ramping up already. I’m still stuck in the old way of thinking: school starts after Labor Day. Of course, we never got a spring break, or extended holiday time off, either. Our holidays were Good Friday, and the week between Christmas Eve and January 2. I don’t think we suffered much!
If the state hadn’t shut it down they would have gone back even earlier.
