The 16th of June, Twenty Twenty-two

It’s Thursday

Looking to the east there’s a haze in the air. That’s the humidity back this morning. According to the weather app, it’s at 96%. Though happily, the temperature is only at 77°. After the last week, that’s pretty amazing.

There are definitely some happy crickets in the grass around this porch. They’re singing their little buzz song in accompaniment to the birds. And now, add in the cicadas… They have decided to add their voices to the symphony.

There’s a peacefulness to the back porch that is inducive to contemplation. It’s different on the front porch, the traffic on the road tends to change the mood. It’s still peaceful and nice, it’s just that you are more aware of humanity out front.

Did you see the story out of New Mexico about the people who were supposed to certify the vote in their election who refused to do so. There was no evidence of any problems, no regularities, no real reason for their vote to not certify the election… Evidently though, they bought into the “Big Lie”. And since they don’t trust the government, they don’t trust the machines, hell evidently they don’t trust their neighbors… So they voted not to certify an election. It seems more and more that this is what America has become.

I also noticed the story that made the point that most of the money given to Donald Trump’s PACs was given by people who were on Social Security. I’m not even sure I want to follow that chain of thought any further than that…

Well, it’s 8:00 a.m. and my coffee cup is about empty…

And it’s getting a little sticky out…

So I think I’ll leave it to the cicadas and the crickets and the birds and head on in for the day…

Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and pray for this dysfunctional nation and the dysfunctional world we live in… I’ll catch y’all on the other side…
