The 9th of June, Twenty Twenty-two

It’s Thursday

I’m back out on the front porch. And really it’s because on bright sunny mornings there’s nothing like filling your viewscape with shade. So, with the temperature already at 79° and the humidity hovering way too high, I’ll sit here and enjoy the fan blowing hard to put my body.

Because, looking around there is not a breath of breeze moving through the trees… It is still. And the prognosticators today are calling for a high of 95°. I have put out a special advisory for today… It seems our heat index is going to be between 100° and 106°. They also say that those values could rise as the week goes by. Oh, and our chance of rain is a abysmally low.

Already this morning dump trucks and cement trucks have been flying by down the road. They are moving way faster than the empty dump trucks went by yesterday morning. Someone must have moved on from up the road… Like a police car

Yesterday afternoon I set out on the front porch for a while and read. Of course the fan was on high. I can’t say it was pleasant… But it was tolerable. I really don’t think I’ll make a habit of it.

My coffee, even though it’s not quite gone, is already lukewarm and needing a refresh. So I doubt I’ll be out here much longer enjoying the quiet, peaceful start to the day.

So y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and pray for this dysfunctional nation… pray for our kids and our neighbors as they worry about whether this will be the day that somebody with an assault rifle decides to shoot up wherever they may be… Pray for our world where people and nations have to worry about other people and nations trying to conquer them once more.
