Twenty-three September, 2021

Thursday

After a breezy Wednesday, Thursday was cool, still, and clear. The temperature this morning when I walked out on the back porch was 58°. The humidity wasn’t even felt. Photographs was heavy with dew.

It definitely feels like fall today. The sun is out, shining brightly.

My long-distance son has now re-inhabited the state of Texas while he waits to see if Covid-19 lessens its impact before following up on his plans to go to school in England. He plans to spend the next year living in Houston before deciding on his future. I’m sure he’ll miss his daily walks in the hills along the Hudson north of the city.

I’m sitting and waiting for the Subaru Dealership to call me to come and pickup my car. They are doing some mechanical work on it. I must say the loaner car is a pleasure to drive. The upgrades in technology and mechanics over last five years are amazing. But based on my past history with cars, I’m at least 60,000 miles away from looking for a new vehicle.

It’s time for another cup and a bite of breakfast. So, y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and pray for our dysfunctional country and world…

Catch y’all on the other side…

  1. If I’m lucky, I can keep my 2011 Toyota going until I’m no longer driving. At the outside, that might be twenty years, but it’s a good car! I’m not enthused by all the gadgetry. Of course, given the situation with the computer chips, everyone may be holding on to the current models for a while.

    1. My habit is to drive a car for 10 years before I replace it as my primary mode of transportation. Even after I retire them they don’t necessarily go away. Sometimes they just get passed down in the family.
