Thursday, September Twentieth

Cool (mid-seventies) morning, quiet morning, coming up on fall morning coffee muses.

The hummingbirds are still battling each other over the sugar water. Early morning brings out the beautiful colors as the males fly toward the rising sun. There aren’t many other birds in evidence at the moment.

It’s kinda funny… sitting here, looking out over my park like front yard… but as a kid, this was the type of home setting I found most appealing. It’s what my grandparents had out in Orchard. Small acreage homesites, covered in mature trees. Comfortable homes…

I’m living the dream… just missing the mountains. Though this year’s weather in my Blue Ridge Mountains is something I’m happy to be missing. My friend Fred First in Virginia spent most of the week flooded in with washed out water crossings at both ends of his road.

Well, my coffee’s gone again. It’s time to take this party inside…
