Friday, August Tenth

It’s cooler this morning, but the humidity is still oppressive… an end of the week morning coffee muses.

The birds are singing. I even heard a pileated woodpecker. Blue jays are jaying.

I looked out of the window yesterday morning and saw a group of workers standing at the end of my driveway. Anytime I see a bunch of city workers standing around I feel the need to investigate. It seems my next door neighbor has complained about the drainage in the ditch by the road. Sadly for him, the bottom ditch at his driveway has the same level as his yard. That means that in heavy rain water flows through his yard along side his driveway. There’s not much the city can do to fix the topography of his yard…

But, in looking at the drainage issues, they decided my driveway’s culverts are too small and need to replaced. In the process they’ll fix the driveway that the city utility department screwed up a couple of years back. So sometime next week I get to play sidewalk superintendent for a day.

Well, the grandkids are off to daycare. Which means their mom must have woken up. She actually got to sleep last night because she wasn’t working…

Time to take this party inside for a refill…
