Friday, June fifteenth

Stormy, thunderous, blowing rain dampening my chair… morning coffee muses.

I awoke to thunder. And when I looked outside the rain was falling… mostly sideways at the time. The nice thing about this… the temperature is in the mid sixties for now. While the rain has moderated, the thunder is still booming. There are breaks in the clouds to the south letting blue sky shine through.

Now the rain barely falling. But the air is still cool. Traffic sounds from the bypass are amplified this morning. Wet roads and low clouds. A rainbow has formed to the west.

The soundtrack this morning is of crickets. Most mornings their sound is drowned out by the buzz of the cicadas. Usually, you can just make out their sound in the background. Today they are the sound.

I had to run the grandkids to daycare. I just walked into the house as the sun broke thru the clouds… I think I’ll stay and have the news playing in the background.

As we move into the summer of reruns on TV, I’ve been binging on The West Wing once more. Listening to the issues from the show amazes me. They are the same issues we are fighting over to this day. The fictional leaders from the show though,  had a much more humanitarian character… even the stereotypical Republicans in the show make today’s conservative lawmakers look like such heartless asses.

Time to move on….
