Blue skies and warm, no rains in sight, morning coffee muses.

Another warm summer’s morning on the back porch. Milkweed down is stuck everywhere. Dragonflies and damselflies abound.

In the time I’ve been sitting out here, the clouds have almost filled the sky. Floating in off the Gulf, they look impressive. They are starting to drift in front of the sun. But, only for a moment.

Sherry’s off the rest of the week so my routine will be not so routine.

Looking towards the bayou, the mowing crew has been by mowing the, right of way. It’s kind of funny, two right of ways pass by side by side. And, two different crews maintain them on different schedules.

The first birds on the feeder today are the juvenile cardinal and a chickadee. Three crows fly over mumbling their claws at each other. A male cardinal chased the juvenile out of the backyard. A mockingbird has decided to regale us with it’s song.

The one thing missing from this summertime setting is butterflies. For some reason there are fewer this year than I recall from the past.

We’ve been missing our Saturday morning breakfasts at the Busy Bee. I guess we’ll make up for it this morning… and maybe tomorrow too.

The buzz of the cicadas is indicating the temperature is getting in the uncomfortable range. Time to retreat into the cool and get dressed for breakfast.
