2023 Day 205

Monday July 24th

“High temperatures today will likely top out in the mid- to upper-90s for most of the region, with mostly sunny skies. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible from early afternoon through early evening, primarily along the sea breeze. Rain chances today are probably in the neighborhood of 30 to 40 percent for areas south of Interstate 10, and 10 to 20 percent for areas for further inland. This pattern of better rain chance chances closer to the Gulf of Mexico is likely to persist for much of this week. Low temperatures will drop into the upper 70s tonight for much of the area, so slightly cooler than much of the rest of the month.”

I was a little late rolling out onto the back porch this morning. I must admit the view wasn’t as impressive as it was after sundown last evening…

Conditions were just right for the entirety of the sky to turn pink. The sun had actually sank below the horizon quite a bit before I took the shots. Sitting in my living room there is just a corner of the southeastern sky that I can see out the window. It was that skyview that caused me to wander out. I was glad I did.

I don’t know what it is about the Amazon Music app that causes this. But, I’ve noticed that when you add an artist to your playlist and then randomize your playlist, you will go through spells that an artist will predominate the mix. Yesterday I noticed it was Bruce Springsteen, last week it was John Mellencamp. George Strait and Willie Nelson tend to monopolize the list on different days. Today seems to be Garth Brooks day on the list.

Don’t get me wrong, they don’t show up on every song but you’ll hear a couple of their songs and then three, four, maybe five songs later you’ll hear a couple more.. there is something and the randomization code that really doesn’t randomize completely.

So each day the music picks its own emphasis.. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Y’all stay cool and I’ll catch y’all on the other side…
