2023 Day 168

Saturday June 17th

The sun isn’t up just yet and the temperature and dew points are already oppressive. The humidity is actually higher than yesterday…

I haven’t even poured my first cup of coffee… But I’m out here on the back porch anyway.

I noticed yesterday that we have moved out from under a heat advisory and now have an “excessive heat warning “. Yesterday that wasn’t a big deal as I had nowhere I had to be and I could just hibernate in the cool of the house. Today it’s time for grocery runs. So like it or not I will need to get out into the excessive heat.

I can see the first evidence of the Sun poking over their horizon. There is now a little bit of sunshine on the sides of the trunks of the trees. It looks like it must be filtered through some clouds still.. and in the time it took me to dictate that phrase it faded away.

I looked at the radar first thing this morning and remembered last evening there were some pretty hefty thunderstorms back towards Kerrville and Austin. I ran the images backwards for 12 hours and then let them play and it looks like, overnight we had some showers that flirted around our area. They never quite got here but they seem to have wrapped around us before they dissipated..

Oh well, it’s Saturday so enjoy your weekend.. me, I’m going to have some coffee now so I’ll catch y’all on the other side.
