2023 Day 160

Friday June 9th

Today is actually cooler than yesterday.. at least the day is starting out that way. There’s a haze in the air.. if it was a little thicker I’d call it a ground fog. A heavy dew lays on everything. Glistening where the sun hits it. I can definitely feel the humidity in the air today… As well as see it.

Last evening, a very heavy line of thunderstorms blew through just before sundown. Strong winds and heavy rains.. lots of thunder and lightning.. but relatively short-lived for the size of the storm. I had watched it move across the state all afternoon…

This has been an egret morning. I feel like I should live along the bay.. Galveston Bay. Cattle egrets have been walking the yard. While great egrets have been flying across the sky in singles and in pairs. So today white feathers have dominated red feathers in my eyes. Though the occasional little blue heron has passed overhead just to change the color patterns… And, yes I know egrets are members of the heron family.

The traffic sounds seem to peak just prior to the hour each day.. and each hour. With a bit of a lull after the hour has turned.

Well.. enough sitting on the back porch this morning.. it’s time to start moving.. see y’all enjoy the day and I’ll catch y’all on the other side.

    1. I was caught by my voice recognition app. And my lack of proofreading. It should have read egrets.
