2023 Day 131

Thursday May 11th

We’re back summer mornings.. there are breaks of the clouds.. temperature is 77°. The dew point is 74°. The ground is still wet though the almost 3 inches of rain we’ve had in the last couple of days has mostly soaked in.

The blooms on the chaste tree are really starting to cover. Which seems to have the hummingbirds gathering. Let the territorial battles begin … The Whistling ducks must have spent the night roosting in my trees.. they just went flying out of the yard.

I won’t call it pleasant sitting here on the porch.. it’s much too sticky to be pleasant.. but, the fan is making it livable. Thankfully there is a bit of a breeze blowing this morning.

I see this week that my friend from Floyd Virginia has begun to try and resurrect his blog, Fragments From Floyd.. it seems the site was hijacked a few years back and it’s taken a while getting it cleaned up and back online. It was Fred that inspired me to start my blog which evolved into this online journal back in 2006. He has spent the intervening years experimenting with different publishing platforms.

I can feel his pain, as I spent almost a year trying to clean up this site when somebody injected bad code into it. It took a lot of editing and removals to finally clean up the mess.

Well.. enough front porch sitting.. it’s time to move.. Time to get my day in gear.. so, I’ll catch y’all on the other side.
