Good morning… It’s a bit warmer this morning at 52°, but the humidity is up and that makes it feel cooler.

On this anniversary of one of the darkest days in our countries recent history… It’s good to see the Party that instigated the insurrection is still in full revolt over governing the country. But then again, that’s been their practice for a long while now.

I had the misfortune of being in the car yesterday afternoon… Actually just before noon here… While the Congress critters we’re nominating their choices for Speaker of the House. It was a very long drive back from Houston.

I must admit to being somewhat bemused by the nominating speeches of the Republicans… Both of them.

What is it about a party that continuously receives less overall votes in this country and takes that as a mandate to change the social fabric of our lives? Am I missing something here?

Oh well, after hearing what they want to do, I find myself feeling much better about the problem they find themselves with. I mean, what the hell, 11 ballots now and the numbers just get worse not better. I think that says something about the state of their party.

It would be nice to think that they would be paid for the “quality of their work “. But if that was the case, they would have all gone home broke years ago.

We’ll just have to see what day four brings to the table.
