2003 Day 7

Saturday, January 7th

It’s the beginning of what the prognosticators are foretelling will be a wet weekend. As usual, we will have to wait and see what happens in the long run. Though at the moment it’s a pleasant 62° out on the back porch.

While reading yesterday, an old World Café interview with Suzanne Vega came on. I have never really followed Suzanne’s career. I’ve heard her only occasionally… But something in the interview caught my attention and caused me to jump off into the internet rabbit hole that Google can open in a flash… almost magically.

This is a long way of saying I ended up listening to another interview and I thought I would share it…

I have to admit that the World Café podcast managed to introduce me to many musicians I would probably never have heard. So I think I should thank them for the long run of great shows… Here’s a video…

And another…

Last night before going to bed I caught the last half of the vote to install Kevin as the new Speaker of the House. I also saw bits of what he “negotiated” away to get the job. I can’t say it looks like an equitable tradeoff to me… but then again, I’m no politician and I’m damn sure not a Republican…

Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and say a prayer for our dysfunctional country especially after seeing how this new congress is “planning” to ruin(sp) it… I’ll catch y’all on the other side…
