It’s Saturday

I’ve been quiet here for most of this middle of the summer month. It was so hot and dry for most of the month that I just hibernated indoors as much as I could. Until the rains finally started. Which finally led to yesterdays thunderstorm…

Do you see the red line of the float in the rain gauge? The real story here is that’s 45minutes worth of rain. Between 2:30pm and 3:15pm Friday 2.25″ of rain fell. Sadly for me I had to leave the house at 2:35pm… Needless to say I got very wet and had a miserable drive thru very heavy rain… So since the 12th of August when we had our first measurable rainfall we’ve had a total of 7.85 inches.
This has been the pattern all summer. Small isolated thunderstorms with high rainfall totals covering just a few square miles each… And yesterday we hit the rainfall lottery.
Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and say a prayer for our dysfunctional country and the world… I’ll catch y’all on the other side…
