It’s the 22nd day of July

It’s Friday

Today is the opening of GC Myers’ solo show at the West End Gallery. The show is called “Chaos & Light”.

The title of this year’s edition of my annual solo exhibit at the West End Gallery is Chaos & Light. This will be my 21st solo outing at the West End Gallery, who has represented my work since 1995.

I chose Chaos & Light because many of us, especially in recent years, often feel as though we exist on the border between chaos and order. Much like the line separating the two sides of the yin and yang of eastern philosophy.

GC Myers “Chaos & Light” – West End Gallery

If you think I might be a bit obsessed with Gary’s art… You would be correct. Truth to tell… I really don’t understand it myself. Before about 2012 or so I wouldn’t have thought his paintings would speak so loudly to my psyche. It was Christmas 2014 when I recieved my first print of one of his works.

Today I got my own private show with a collector here in Webster. It was the first time I had actually been in the presence of so many of his originals. I also walked away with three from her collection. As my daughter said after looking at the above photos… It’s beginning to look like my own private gallery.

The three pieces I added were… (1) “Last Man Standing“. (2) “Full Running – the Zita”. (3) “The Passage”.

Now, I think it’s time for lunch…

Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and say a prayer for our dysfunctional country and the world… I’ll catch y’all on the other side…
