Thursday, Cinco de Mayo

When I walked out with my granddaughter this morning I did something I haven’t done before… I pulled up the podcast app on my phone. The first thing I listened to was Birdnote, a short little daily podcast about birds.

By the time I walked out with my grandson I started listening to Minnie Driver’s podcast. Thank God that the temperatures and the breeze were pleasant this morning… because as usual when I listen to this podcast I found myself enthralled (?)… I could never quite figure it out, but her voice and accent along with the subject matter always just sucks me in.

I seldom get the impression when listening to personalities but I would like to really get to know them… But that is exactly what happens when I listen to Minnie Driver. I find myself wishing I could sit down across the table from her and just having a conversation.

Well, the prognosticators are predicting some strong southerly winds today leading into almost record breaking heat indexes for the weekend. And of course due to the high demand ERCOT is telling all us Texans we better conserve our electricity this weekend or we might not have it. Such an oxymoronic name for a government agency. Just think the electricity reliability council of Texas can do absolutely nothing to make electricity reliable in Texas.
