18th of April, Sunday

I’m a bit late this morning. But the wet misty weather has broken. And at 53°, the temperature is very spring like. We’ll be back into our precursor to summer shortly.

These past few days, I’ve noticed the Texas privet is blooming in the backyard in a manner and abundance I haven’t seen before.

I had the binoculars out this morning checking for fruit on the mulberry trees in the neighbor’s woods. I couldn’t spot any. That’s worrying at this time of the year as that’s a major food source for the migrating songbirds. It was also where I usually spotted most of the fallout birds that stopped over here.

But the sun is out now. Though the winds are still blustery out of the north. The temperature will be rising. But the day promises to be beautiful and spring like… More so than we’ve had in a while. In the yard is still full of spring flowers. Though many, are starting to go to seed. Which means it’s almost time to start the summertime meditation of writing in circles on the mower.

Well it’s time… Time to get the bacon and the skillet… And the biscuits in the oven. Then the eggs scrambled up…

Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and pray for the nation… And the world.

Have a peaceful Sunday.
