It’s frosty out this morning. A cool 28°. A beautiful cloudless winter morning. The yard is probably the brownest I can recall seeing in a couple of decades. I can’t recall this many consecutive days of below freezing weather.
It’s funny how I haven’t felt the need to sit out in the cold as I compose these blog posts. Having a nice warm seat in the house works just fine. All of the bird feeders are visible from my chair. I can watch the coming and the going of the birds. And come and go they do, all day long. The majority with differing shades of yellow on their body. From the drab yellow of the American goldfinches, to the full on yellow of the pine warbler, to the patches of yellow on the yellow-rump warbler. Though, there are scattering of species with no yellow at all.
Well it’s been a week to remember, to go down in the history books, but the week is coming to it’s end and more common winter weather is in the forecast. This coming week we’ll see the return of 70° days and 50° nights. A more common Texas winter weather.
Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, stay warm, and pray that we all get through this together.
Have a wonderful weekend.
