February 12th, Friday

Baby it’s cold outside… 37° at 7:30 a.m., there’s a steady wind blowing, and a lot of moisture in the air. All day yesterday, where the forecast called for rising temperatures, that kept falling. Forecasted low last night was only 40°. It’s below that now. The forecast says it’s going to warm up to 45° today… For some reason I have my doubts.

At least I got to sleep in. It’s a teacher’s day at school today so the grandkids didn’t have to catch the bus. What was President’s day being on Monday, the kids might miss most of this winter weather and just hang out in the house. And as crazy as it may seem, there’s still snow in the forecast for Monday morning.

There’s a lot of activity on the bird feeders this morning. And a lot of activity out in the woods. Birds flying to and fro. Sometimes I have to wonder how they can make it through cold windy spells… But they do.

The anemometer is spinning rapidly in the yard out back. The bare tree limbs are dancing. The pine trees are swinging. The ceiling fans on the back porch are spinning without even being on.the hanging bar with the bird feeders on it swaying back and forth. The wind chimes on the front porch are singing it a loud, loud voice.

I need another cup of coffee, so I’m going to call this Muse done. Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, stay warm, and pray for the nation in the world.

Have a wonderful, if cold, day.
