It’s not very cool out, just 56°. But it’s quite windy, and misting a bit of rain. The wind chimes on the front porch have been making a racket all morning long. The prognosticators have placed the chance of rain at 60% today.
Driving out to wait for the bus, I had a robin escort me all the way. Suddenly, I’m seeing robins everyday. Yesterday I finally put up a wrens bird house on the back porch. I’ll see how long it takes them to explore it.
If the rain chances weren’t so high I’d probably be on my birthday road trip today. But over the years I’ve discovered rainy road trips aren’t much fun. They’re sure don’t make for decent photographs. So I guess I’ll wait till Monday and take a belated birthday road trip. In actuality neither today, nor Monday or my birthday. But when my birthday falls on the weekend I’ve discovered I’d rather not do a road trip. Last year I missed my road trip completely. The year before I never even edited the photos. I guess I need to get back in the habit.
Well, my third cup of coffee is about empty. So I guess I should move on with my day and in this muse. Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and pray for our nation and the world.
Enjoy your day.
I came home yesterday to a couple hundred robins in the yard – they were everywhere. I think the one who’s been hanging around the feeders might have been a scout. They’re clearly on their way north. As for the weather — what you call cool, I call flat cold. The wind’s right out of the east here, right off the bay. That wind can be cool even if it’s 70, and when it’s only 52, it’s even worse.
I remember some of your past birthday road trips. Monday and Tuesday are looking pretty nice — get out there, fella!
All morning long I’ve listened to the wind chimes on my front porch. East winds always give them a much larger voice to sing with. But, sitting in my Lazy Boy looking out the back windows is pretty comfy. And the 50’s beat the heck out of the 30’s in New York and the single digits in MN.
Besides, I just put a pot of leftover soup on the stove to warm up for lunch so all is good.
Stay in out of the wind Linda. Stay warm…
