February 4th, Thursday

It’s definitely not chilly today. The temperature this morning before sunup was 64°. Clouds are moving back in from the gulf. The prognosticators are foretellingof a good chance of rain today and tonight… We’ll have to see.

I’ve been seeing Robin’s fly around in the early morning light. I’ve seen more in the last few days than all winter long. Considering that once upon a time I would see flocks of hundreds pecking through the leaf litter in the yard, seeing just a few individuals is better than none. Stepping out on the back porch this morning I could hear the immense number of blackbirds in the woods behind the house, chattering to each other waiting to rise like a cloud of smoke from the trees they are perched in.

Ever since I acquired this new phone, I’ve discovered I’ve gotten lazier in these daily posts. I find myself dictating rather than typing on the little bitty keyboard. It’s an interesting experience, speaking and watching the words appear on the screen. I’m always amazed at the ability of the phone to capture my words mostly correctly. Though the occasional error is sometimes amusing (“I’m using” is what the phone keeps hearing).

I get to trek into Houston today to visit my podiatrist. Almost an hour’s trip each way. I shouldn’t complain because the wife makes the trip 5 days a week.

Well the coffee cup is empty, so I guess I should move along. Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, pray for our nation in the world.

I’m going to enjoy this crazy spring like day in the middle of winter, I hope you enjoy your day too.
