February 2nd, Tuesday

It was a chill 40° this morning, with a bit of do on the car and the grass. And, a very, very beautiful sunrise. The grandkids are on the buses, the first load of laundry is in the wash, my second cup of coffee is gone. And it’s not even 8:00 a.m. yet.

Gary Myers had an insightful post this morning on redtreetimes.com. His muse/rant was all about what he perceives (and I agree with him) as a lack of courage in the Republican party. Go check him out, maybe you’ll agree too.

Two or three times a week I get to live vicariously in the northern states all my son calls me on his lunch time hike. He lives in the Hudson valley, in the little town of Cold Spring, New York. His hike yesterday on his path through the forest was during the snowfall. Listing to his feet crunch through snow and ice on the trail let’s me enjoy the warmth in my living room all that much more. Though truth be told, I think I would have liked to have been on a walk like that where I bought a little bit younger and healthier. I always did enjoy winter in the woods and the brush.

Looking back, from this side of my life, I sometimes wish I’d had the courage, the gumption, to pack it up and move to a different state, a different climate, a different geography. But I didn’t, so here I sit not more than 40 miles from where I was born… Almost 7 decades removed. So you could really say, my travels have been temporal and not spatial.

Well it’s time for another cup. Then shortly I should eat breakfast. So… Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and pray for our nation and the world. We still have a lot to get through.

Have a wonderful day and think about life, the pursuit of happiness, and love…
