Laying abed this morning, the light coming in from around the blinds was fading as the minutes passed. Now I see why… by the time I arose, the rumbles of distant thunder were making themselves heard.

By the time I had acquired my record shots of the morning a mist was beginning to fall. By the time I had finished the morning edition of the Redtree Times it began to blow rain across the porch.

By the time that last paragraph was finished the heavy rain was finished… for now… Too many showers of that intensity and the fall colors will all be littering the ground. Already the red oak is looking pretty bedraggled… more open spaces than leaves of burnt orange.

A steady breeze is making the wind chimes sing. Light rain falling on our expanse of roof is steadily dripping down the gutters to the dowmspouts… a sound that has grown very comforting over the years. The intensity of the rainfall can be judged by that sound.

Wind and rain… Intense then less… blowing hard… then not. A Sunday morning coffee muses. I think it’s time to fix some breakfast…

Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and Pray for our Nation and the world. Wear your damn masks… everyone’s health depends on all of us cooperating with the mandates… even when the politicians don’t have the courage to say what should be said.
