It’s a warm and muggy pre-cold front start to the day. The first front is around Waco heading our way. There are enough clouds out over Galveston Bay to make the sunrise interesting even if a temperature of 77 degrees doesn’t make it very comfortable.
There’s an owl softly calling along the bayou. A layer of morning fog is getting thicker as the day brightens. A mockingbird makes a rarefied appearance in song. The first hummingbird is chattering at the feeder… let the battles begin.
There’s a mosquito buzzing around biting me… tiny, with a mighty sting. Traffic noise is loud this Monday morning. The hazy fog is putting a painterly effect on the morning.
The sun has now breached the horizon behind the treeline… it’ll be a few minutes before it can climb high enough to clear that line of trees. Maybe the clouds moving in from the south will line up by then. It’s an open race, neither participant is even aware of the other.
Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and Pray for our Nation and the world… as Mary Gauthier says “We all could use a little mercy now”.
I just read that the front passed the Woodlands at 6:45, and is projected to clear the coast by noon. Bring it on!
I just pulled up the weather map and saw that they show it already half way from Waco in less than an hour. And there’s a second front in Kansas…
