Another almost springlike morning as we rush towards full blown summer. As nice as these last few mornings are, I don’t walk out expecting them. So each one comes as a surprise gift… like being a kid again and having one birthday after another.

Even the birds are happier out this morning. Fluttering up and down , from ground to limb and back again. Jay’s and cardinals and chickadees adding their songs to the crickets and the now joined by the cicadas.

It’s quieter now that the trains have moved on. One must have been on the siding by Walmart letting another pass. The waiting is over and it to has traveled on down the rails.

Sunday mornings are so peaceful on the front porch. Very little traffic passing, not much on the bypass either. Just sitting with my coffee in a world of greenery. Watching squirrels and birds playing chase in the trees. A song from my youth playing over and over in my head… thanks GC.

An old friend on Facebook asked her friend feed to say in a few words how we met… which led to many old memories being dredged from the dusty corners of my brain. The one that rang truest had to do with a bunch of us gathering out on the hood of my ’57 Chevy station wagon. It was our neighborhood gathering place. Everyone from preteens to early 20’s hung out there. Out in full view of parents. They were mostly good days. It was even where I first met my wife.

As the photos show, all of our vehicles are at home this morning. I’m sure that won’t last long. As a matter of fact one just left.

Well, the coffee’s running low and I really want another cup before it is all gone… Stay healthy, stay safe, and have a wonderful day.
