Saturday, twenty days into January

Almost warm, almost foggy morning coffee muses.

The sun is breaking through the fog that’s already risen into the sky leaving behind wisps of hazy remnants. But after days of rain and threats of rain, I feel no need to hide from the sun.

Everything is damp from the fog overnight.

We have an appointment at the Subaru dealership for Sherry’s eighteen month service. So this muse won’t be long.

Just had a v of a dozen water birds fly over the yard in a hurry. Not sure what species, only caught a glimpse. Just recall relatively long necks and legs.

I’m almost overdressed for the morning. It’ll definitely be a shorts and t-shirt kind of day.

Birds are everywhere… as usual. Dogs are barking somewhere over the bayou.

I see from checking the headlines that the US government is shutdown. And for the first time in history, it’s shutdown with every branch of the government in one parties hands. Using two manufactured crisis, republicans have tried, once again, to govern by negotiating with just themselves. And they think they can blame democrats for the shutdown… I have to ask, how did that work out for you guys before?

Republicans have refused to bring a vote on CHIP to a vote. And DACA is the President’s very own self created crisis. They hope to beat Democrats over the head with these issues in the mid-terms. I think they will see the error of there ways in November.

Time to run…
