Warm And Humid Once Again For My Morning Coffee Muses

The sun is hiding behind slowly drifting dark clouds this morning. Except for the ceiling fans there isn’t a breath of air moving. Only a distant crow breaks the silence.

I have been shamed into grilling today. Just hot dogs and burgers served in white sandwich bread since I haven’t seen a bun, neither hot dog or hamburger, in this town since Harvey. I don’t think my grandkids will no what to think.

There’s a hawk squealing in the woods along the bayou. He’s sitting along the right-of-way behind the house. Too far away to identify through the branches.

It’s steadily gotten darker since I sat down out here. And there’s a haze in the air you can feel. It’s hard to believe there’s only a 20% chance of rain today.

It’s so still and quiet it’s almost like the day is holding it’s breath waiting for something to happen.

Coffee’s gone and so am I. Enjoy the day if you can, pray for those that can’t as they labor to put their lives back together.
