On the front porch this morning.. it’s surprisingly cool. With a dew point below 70° and a temperature almost the same at 69°, it’s the best feeling morning we’ve had in a very long time. Even though the bus has already gone it’s still mostly dark out.
Twenty-two years have gone by since 9/11 changed America. And for those of us who lived through it.. no matter where you were in America at the time.. things definitely changed.
I remember being at work, everyone gathered in the break room watching the breaking news, and seeing the second playing hit the second tower and thinking ” this was no accident “. I don’t remember much work getting done after that….
I do remember thinking that after all the years of terrorist bombings around the world.. it had finally happened to America. Not in America, but ” To ” America.
Many things have happened in the years since then. Many changes have occurred in our world. Sometimes I wonder if our lost innocence hasn’t let us down a rabbit hole.
Twenty-two years… Were we ever that young, that innocent?
And now, the last bus has come and gone so these muses can come to an end. I’m headed in for another cup of coffee and some breakfast.. Y’all stay cool and I’ll catch y’all on the other side.
