Thursday June 22nd

Wow… The light show last night was amazing. And the thunderous applause was nothing.. but thunder. At the very least it gave us a break in the weather. While it’s not really cool.. The morning’s temperature of 77° sure feels that way. When you add in the dew point in the low 70s for a change it feels like we’re back in June again after an early August vacation…

That’s an example of just how hot it’s been, Tuesday night they had to shut down Hwy 6 here at Alvin. All seven lanes were shut down overnight while they patched buckling concrete. Sherry told me they had the highway back open Wednesday morning but it was still a little rough. By Wednesday afternoon the road was shut down to one lane each way while they did more permanent repairs.
I also see that the heat seems to have brought down a very large limb on one of my oak trees. It seems to happen in the heat of the summer almost semi-annually. Now I get to call out the guys with the chainsaws to chop up another section of my shade canopy.
Oh well, it looks like that’s about all I have to say today. See y’all have a good day, try to stay cool, and I’ll catch y’all on the other side.
