Tuesday June 13th
Maybe I am acclimating to summer.. because, this morning even though I’m late it doesn’t feel quite as sticky on the back porch.
But if you look at the image above, you can see that I really should feel sticky… I mean really, the temperature in the dew point are both above 75°, and the humidity is at 95%. Summer… I am not really a fan.
I will say though, it’s quiet out. Traffic on the bypass is seemingly lite. There’s very little sound from the chicken farm around the corner. As a matter of fact the two constants or the ceiling fans humming and the cicadas buzzing.
I got lost for a while over on GC Myers’ blog Redtree Times meeting a new singer for the first time.. Terry Callier and Lazarus Man… It seems that I have a morning routine. I pour my coffee.. I go out on the back porch and take some pictures.. I sit down, either on the back porch or in my living room and do some editing.. and upload the photos. Once the photos are uploaded I am in my Jetpack/Wordpress app so I go into my reader and see what has been posted already. Usually it’s Gary Myers daily post that comes up first.
So before I start composing these posts of mine.. I read Gary’s each morning, and this morning, that took a while because he posted two music videos of the same song. You really should go over and have a listen and a read…
Last evening as I came back from dropping off my grandson I stopped and then you subdivision, Watermark. Looking at the new home construction really brought to life the ’50s and ’60s term ” track house “. I mean, talk about a production line… I would guess that in less than 2 weeks almost 30 houses have been started. One… After… Another.
And then if I was leaving.. driving down to turn around in the cul-de-sac I saw ducks.. A pretty good sized flock of Black-bellied Whistling-Ducks spread out over the dry subdivision soil.
The Black-bellied Whistling-Duck is a boisterous duck with a brilliant pink bill and an unusual, long-legged silhouette. In places like Texas and Louisiana, watch for noisy flocks of these gaudy ducks dropping into fields to forage on seeds, or loafing on golf course ponds. Listen for them, too—these ducks really do have a whistle for their call. Common south of the U.S., Black-bellied Whistling-Ducks occur in several southern states and are expanding northward.
So anyway.. I would say that before the sales center is even open, Watermark will have quite an inventory of new tract houses to sell…
Oh well, it’s 8:00 a.m. and I really need to move from the porch and this rocking chair.. see y’all have a good day and I’ll catch y’all on the other side.
