Monday, January 9th
It’s a pleasantly cool 52° on the back porch this morning. The winds are calm, not a breeze blowing. Just enough light clouds in the sky to add some color to the sunrise this morning… Here’s a bit of ground fog hanging through the woods…
The chickens around the corner are making their normal morning clucking sounds. The crow has announced its presence then quieted. Cardinals are cheeping around the yard. Strangely, the traffic sounds or vastly muted on this Monday morning.
The grandkids are up and moving, getting ready for school this morning. We’re about 30 minutes away from the school bus.
Way off in the distance, I can hear sirens… Ever since they built the new firehouse and EMS station just across the bypass, sorryings have become much more prevalent in our daily life. I guess that will be true right up until they begin to build the elevated highway between me and them. Though, at the rate they are working to complete the outer loop around Houston, it could be a long time before they start piling dirt up down there.
It’s about like waiting for home construction and then you subdivision to begin blocking the sounds of the trains on the tracks to the north. Once the bushes and trees were cleared from that plot of land it has gotten much louder when the trains roll by… And the number of trains rolling by seems to have increased with the decrease in ground cover.
Well I’m ready for another cup of coffee, so this muse needs to end… So y’all stay healthy, stay safe, and pray for our dysfunctional nation… And the world. I’ll catch you down the road…
