Well I made it out for an abbreviated road trip today. Swung through the Brazoria Wildlife Refuge where it was the emptiest of bird life I have ever seen it. Then I had it on down to Surfside, where the Beach was its normal empty February weekday self… I loved it.

But the skies were cloud covered, the sun stayed hidden, and so did the birds. So rather than swing by the Nash, I headed on home for lunch.

Maybe I’ll have better luck come spring…
