It’s the middle of my birthday cycle. I’m half a year past the last one and half a year to the next. Not that I really pay attention to them. Though, truth be told, I’m reaching an age where they seem to come faster and faster.
The morning is warm, and humid… though not as humid as some. There are birds about, but with me on the porch, they fly up and then turn around. No breeze stirs the leaves. And clouds only make their appearance to the east over the bay and gulf.
I’ve been caught in the covid conundrum. I had a fever earlier in the week so I emailed the Doctor. After doing a video visit and asking me questions about where I’ve been it came up that I attended a funeral out of town. So now, before I can get blood work done, I have to test negative for Covid-19. So, today I get to fight whatever rush hour traffic is to get into Houston by 5:15. Then wait for the results just to get lab work done to tell me I’ve probably got an infection and need antibiotics.
So this afternoon I get to get in line to have my nostril reamed. An experiance I’d hoped to get through this pandemic without. Oh well, I now join both women in my household as they both get tested regularly. The only difference is they don’t get tested at a drive thru testing site, so it’s a bit gentler on the nasal passage.
My coffee’s gone and the temperature has passed 80 degrees with the sun now shining on my feet. Time to put this muse to bed.
Y’all stay safe, stay healthy, and Pray for our Nation.
I hope the test isn’t too unpleasant, but most of all I hope it’s a negative. Even more, I hope you don’t have any bad traffic to deal with. Wouldn’t that be great?
Thanks Linda, the sad thing is my wife just got in from work and I’m fixing to drive right back to her place for testing. I asked her about traffic and she said it just took her 47 minutes. Since I’m heading into town, I hope it’ll be the same or less for me.
