Out before the sun this morning. Off in the distance the thump, thump of tires on expansion joints let’s me know that the world still turns.
The temperature hasn’t moderated one bit. A low of 78º each morning doesn’t make for a pleasant muse. But, then again, it is mid August in Texas on the gulf coast… what do you expect.
Before the sun comes blasting over the horizon the birds are making themselves heard around the neighborhood.
I’ve been hearing from my electric supplier on a daily basis this week. Texts and emails telling to cut back on my usage during this heat wave.

Wow, not enough power to keep cool?
Yhep, The Houston Chronicle had an article about it this morning. Seems the wind hasn’t been blowing as much as it was predicted it would… and electricity in Texas is about a third from wind power. Texas power systems are really strange, and the wholesale power price has spiked to the maximum allowed by law twice this week… $9000.00 per megawatt hour. Some plants here in Texas never produce an ounce of power unless the wholesale price is at it’s max…
