A Wet, Loud, Gonna Get Wetter Morning Coffee Muse

Sherry’s alarm went off at it’s normal 4 am. She shut it off and for the next hour lightning flashed and thunder boomed… Ok, maybe it was only 30 minutes… but it sure seemed like an hour. It seemed like some of the lightning strikes were right outside the bedroom window. There was no time between the flash and the boom. And did I say they were loud…

As you can see, what woke us was just an isolated thunderstorm running well ahead of an early rain band. And if the radar holds true through the morning we will see bands of rain streaming over us from east to west. everything you see in that image is twirling around the center at the bottom in the classic counterclockwise direction.

I need to go pour that first cup of the day and step out and get the feel of the morning…

Light to no breeze, light to moderate rain falling. It will be an interesting day.. Now it’s time to get ready to head into Houston.
