Once Again There Is Weather Moving Over Galveston Bay For My Morning Coffee Muses

While there are thunderclouds to the east, the skies to the west are mostly clear…

The morning temperature is already in the 90’s. A Hot and muggy Sunday morning if I ever saw one. The sky has a steady stream of Wal-Mart Gulls going by. The Mississippi Kite is on his perch on Jones Street. And dragonflies are everywhere. Amazingly, I haven’t heard a single cicada sing.

I am seeing a lot of butterflies though. Sulphurs I recognize, but most of the others… all I can say is they aren’t monarchs.

For almost an hour now, I’ve watched as a steady stream of thunderclouds have sailed slowly north off the Gulf of Mexico and straight up Galveston Bay. One after the other. Great billowing mounds of white cotton candy…

Coffee’s almost gone, email is calling, then I should check in and see what outrageous thing the leader of the free world has tweeted this morning… or can we even call the POTUS that anymore? Have we finally been relegated to bit players on the world stage?
