Just A Not So Warm June Saturday Morning Coffee Muses
It looks like the only way to enjoy the morning before the temperature climbs into the eighties is to get out early. I’m not certain that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make on a daily basis. But two days in a row… that’s not a problem.
My circular meditation didn’t work out to well yesterday. The Deere broke a belt. I pulled out a replacement and put it on. It threw the new belt. I put it back on. It threw it again. I parked the Deere and took a shower before picking up my eldest at her work. I have a good idea what I did wrong. So Monday I’ll put the belt back on. In the meantime, I need to order a couple of replacement belts since I’m using my last spare.
This is the last weekend before our road trip. By this time next Saturday we should be in or close to Louisiana. It’s not a drive I enjoy, I10 east all the way to Mobile. Just so long as we don’t get hung up on th causeway over the Atchafalaya swamp. The last couple of trips, we’ve been delayed on that very long bridge.
The majority of the birds I see these days are dressed for the tropics. Every one is mostly white, from the Wal-Mart gulls to the cattle egrets with an occasional ibis, heron, or snowy egret thrown in for good measure.
I’ve been stuck on that Atchafalaya bridge. May you escape that particular irritation on your trip!
Sometimes I wish I was traveling the backroads to a destination, then I remember the limited time we have to travel and be in the place we want to get to and I forgo the joy of the journey for the joy of the destination. Sadly, being stuck on a bridge over a swamp doesn’t rate at all on the joy scale.
Thanks Linda for the good wishes, maybe with your contribution they’ll be granted going and coming.
