The Last Forecasted Cool Spring Morning Coffee Muses
I am going to enjoy the morning to the utmost since the weather prognosticators are foretelling it will be the last below 70° start to a day for at least the next wee and a half. I even spent a big part of the afternoon out hear reading yesterday. That was after spending the of the day riding the Deere… And even that was mostly pleasant. It’s remarkable how good a relatively moderate humidity can feel. I can almost see the appeal of the Rocky Mountain West. .. Almost.
This yard is becoming quite the hawk haven. When I’m mowing I’m used to the cattle egrets following me, even sitting still as I drive past. But, never before have I had a hawk land in the tree above me and watch me mow. Then when I finished the back and moved to the front, he found another perch where he could watch me there too. This morning, it looked like the same hawk came flying across the back yard just off the ground before landing on a low limb in the red oak. Then later two more flew out of the woods and landed screeching in the pecan tree…And all the while the young Mississippi Kite watches from the perch above Jones Street.
In the news yesterday I see the CBO numbers are out… And the score is the same, almost exactly, as the original healthcare bill the House Repugs wouldn’t vote for originally. Oh, except it doesn’t save as much money over ten years… since no one would vote for the original because of the numbers, you can begin to understand why they didn’t wait for the numbers this time… To my way of thinking, the Christian Right is proving there is nothing Christian about the Right in American politics.
Oh well, its too pretty of a morning to think about Republican cold heartedness.
