Almost Cool, Almost Humid Monday Morning Coffee Muses
My morning routine is to grab my phone, my tablet, and a cup of coffee and amble out onto the back porch. After settling the coffee cup down, I take the photos of the day before settling into my rocking chair… not to rock, but to post the photos and muse my way through these posts. In the process, I find myself interrupted often… by a bird on the feeder or just a song… by the pattern of the breeze moving through the leaves of the trees, or just the layers of green running down to the bayou. Sometimes I find myself lost in the patterns of cloud and sky. But most of these daily ramblings thru my brain take an hour or more before I pull the trigger and hit publish… Then I check email and read the news.
When I first walked out this morning it was amazingly quiet. No traffic sounds, no birdsong, no barnyard sounds… it was as if the world had ceased to move. Gradually, over a half an hour, birds started chirping, a train blew its horn way up the line, then the birdsong began… And everything was back to normal.
Damn, even the squirrels are beginning to lose their fear of me. When one of the little minions from bird feeder hell sits ten feet away and ignores you you know something is up…
It looks like my time has run it’s course… gotta keep myself on schedule or the day will get away from me and I’ll just sit here and eat lotus blossoms…
