Getting Near The End

We passed a milestone yesterday when we said goodbye to the bright yellow modern equivalent of my grandparents “Quarter Moon”. In other words, they picked up the “port-a-potty” that has graced our site since June.

The construction portion of this ongoing project is, for all intents and purposes, complete. There are a few minor glitches still to fix but today we get our keys and can begin the process of flooding thirty plus years of life together into the new “home”. It’s a nice space that has yet to deserve that designation of home…But…I’m sure it will. Two weeks to vacate this old farmhouse…Our home for almost 20 years…Then we say goodbye to the tired old girl. I wish I could say we are being conservationally prudent and recycling the old girls bones, but, city government, mortgage holders and contractors have different concepts of how quickly this project must come to an end…

Needless to say, but I am saying it anyway…I will be busy for the next couple of weeks making everything happen…So I won’t be spending much time updating here. So…I’ll catch you on the other side.

  1. Thanks Tipper, last night was our first night and it went smother than we thought….other than having to run back to the old house in the front yard every time someone realized that we were missing something we needed to do something we needed to do… We have a little over a week to clear the old house. Computers should move today after the telephone guy hooks up the new house with dsl.
