We were awakened by the rolling artillery thunder of an advancing front…Weather not war, but just as shattering to a good sleep.
The percussive sounds and flashes of lighning came booming through just before daylight. Our bedroom would fill with light. Almost immediately the the walls would reverberate with the long drawn out rumbling boom. Within seconds…Another flash…Another rumbling booooom.
Sherry and I are on a staycation this week, so after muttering to each other about how loud it was outside we cuddled up under the covers and returned to slumber…
When we finally pulled ourselves out of bed this morning the sun was out…The clouds already pushing off shore to our southeast. The thermometer read 64°. I quickly opened doors and locked the screen doors (little one wandering around underfoot). The cool northern air moving through the house felt oh so nice…I know it won’t last the day out, but, here on the Gulf Coast we milk every ounce of pleasure we can from a fall cool front before we let the reality of or fall climate intrude on our day.
So I am off to lay in my Trek Light Hammock and enjoy the sunshine and cool breezes of a fall cool front…What are your plans today?
