Cheney’s disappointment with the former president surfaced recently in one of the informal conversations he is holding to discuss the book with authors, diplomats, policy experts and past colleagues.

If there is anything that could improve the historical reputation of George W. Bush, this could be it…Dick Cheney is voicing his “disappointment.”

It seems to me though, that it is as if the two men who were at the top of the American government gradually came to share the view of the majority of Americans…That they each were not the leaders we needed. Nor were they the leaders we required.

Both of their  reputations would have been better served had the Supreme Court stayed out of the 2000 election and let the political battle play out.
