Light rain has decided to bless us today. The clouds and rain are keeping the temperature below 80° so far…Though… I am sure the rain is making the mosquitoes more than happy…

A pot of soup is working on the stove for lunch. I tend to use weekday lunches as an excuse to use up suppertime leftovers. It works well for this household because my wife does not like soups. This way I get my soupy, stewy fix without upsetting her eating sensibilities.
Once I start a soup pot, it just tends to keep mutating over the course of the week. New items just keep getting tossed in each day based upon the evening meal from the night before. Sometimes I had fresh ingredientes just to change the direction the leftovers have been pushing the pot.
Today’s pot started life as a pot of pinto beans with a bit of beef brisket for flavouring. Add in a piece of pork loin chop cubed, some cooked mustard greens chopped, a half jar of chicken jous from a baked chicken, some barley, some cracked wheat…I’ll probably add some chopped vegetables — conion, carrots and celery — before it’s done…
Most days I put the pot on to simmer just after breakfast. Today I had to run across Houston, so I am a little late getting the pot started…

It looks like it’s time to take the grandson out side to the front porch for some quality rocker time…Catch ya later…
