I walked out of the house yesterday to see this sight…
The color of the sky was so arresting I had to grab a shot. Then I waited to see the sun peak over the tree tops. This whole daylight saving time is screwy though…I shouldn’t have to wait till 8am to see the sun rise.
As you can tell from the layer of fog on the ground, our humidity has started climbing back into the normal range for around here. It felt kinda’ strange walking out of a morning and not having your eyes steam over. It’s that humidity that gave the sun a canvas upon which it painted the colors you see in the picture up above. There wasn’t a cloud in the sky…

In hopes of getting lost on our trip into the mountains, I am awaiting the arrival of DeLorme’s map software and GPS sensor. It should give the wife something to do as we drive across America. She should be able to follow the trip on the laptop…And she will be able to tell me with great certainty that I turned the wrong way back there at the last intersection…Six miles ago.
Anyway, once we get started I’ll let you know what I think of the software.

Aubrey de Grey may be wrong but, evidence suggests, he’s not nuts. This is a no small assertion. De Grey argues that some people alive today will live in a robust and youthful fashion for 1,000 years. In 2005, an authoritative publication offered $20,000 to any molecular biologist who could demonstrate that de Grey’s plan for treating aging as a disease — and curing it — was “so wrong that it was unworthy of learned debate.”
If you really want to delve into his ideas, go over to the TED|Talks site I posted about and listen to his talk there…Aubrey de Grey: Why we age and how we can avoid it.
Go have a listen, then go read the article, intriguing idea well presented…
Gotta run…
