After a week chock full of autumn…more to come.

I have been a bit wary of commenting about the beautiful fall weather we have had for the last week. The night time lows are no longer pushing into the 40’s…But the low 50’s are still kinda nice.

The high yesterday afternoon (read in the car) was 72°. With the afternoon breeze, it felt just right. Though, if you were someplace where the breeze couldn’t reach, you felt the sun beating down on you pretty warmly. And, since we have been having undeniable fall weather, the sun has been shining in a beautiful clear blue sky…

So, if all of this gushing over the past weeks weather is true to form, it won’t matter what the prognosticators have to say…Now that I’ve spoken so glowingly, it will go back to that Indian Summer pattern we have been hoping would go home.

One more week at work and then we (the wife and I) begin our vacation. We have only planned the vaguest outlines of the journey…no real itinerary, just places we want to stop along the way. We will start at the southern end of the Appalachian’s and work our way north into Virginia maybe a little further. We will meander our way up the eastern spine of the country slowly. Seeing what there is to see of the mountains after the peak color of fall has littered the ground.

I will post along the way…hopefully with pictures and stories…
